"At the Lutheran Church yesterday afternoon occurred a pretty wedding. The contracting parties were Miss Clara Lindekugel and Mr. Adolph Luther, both of them from very prominent families of this vicinity, and the wedding was performed by Rev. Lange.

When Miss Emma Lenling at the organ began playing the wedding march the house was nearly filled with the friends of the young couple, both from the village and country, and when the bride and groom came down the aisle with the attendants the same was one of beauty.

The bride was dressed in white and wore white roses and the groom the conventional black.

The bride was attended by Misses Anna Lindekugel and Lena Luther and the groom by Otto Luther and Richard Lindekugel.

After the ceremony the bride and groom and the invited guests drove to the home of the bride's parents in the town of Sherman, Clark County, Wis., where a reception was given.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lindekugel of the town of Sherman and has a host of friends. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Luther of the town of Loyal and there is no doubt but he will make a success of his chosen vocation as a farmer. Both the bride and groom were born in Clark County and their many friends wish them a long and happy voyage through life.

The happy young couple will make their home on the farm of Joseph Bertz in the town of Loyal."

"A very pretty wedding took place Wednesday, June 20, 1928 at 2:00 o’clock in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Loyal, when Miss Alta Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schradter of Loyal, was united in marriage to Mr. Oscar Lindekugel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lindekugel of Loyal. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Leschenaky the resident pastor, pronouncing the sacred words which united the happy couple.

The bride was charmingly gowned in a white beaded canton crepe dress, and wore a train veil, a crown fixed with beads, pearls and rhinestones, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas. She was attended by her sister Miss May Stevens of Loyal, who wore a dress of orchid canton crepe, and acted as bridesmaid. And by the groom’s niece, Miss Verna Luther of Loyal, who wore a nile green taffeta and acted as maid of honor. Each of these attendants wore rhinestone head bands and carried corsage bouquets of roses and sweet peas.

Little Bernadine and Bernice Stargardt of Marshfield served as flower girls and carried a beautiful basket of pink roses, sweet peas and snapdragons.

The groom wore a dark blue suit and was attended by Mr. Alex Mrotek of Loyal and Mr., Harold Strehlow of Poysippi and were also dressed in dark blue suits.

The bridal couple and their attendants autoed to Marshfield directly after the wedding ceremony and had their wedding pictures taken. Then returning to the brides home a six o’clock wedding dinner and reception was held and about 100 guests were served.

The rooms were profusely decorated in violet, green and white. Wedding bells were hung in the center. Miss Lilias Schoch, Miss Verna Kosmosky and Miss Lucille Litka were table waitresses. They were dressed in white uniforms and wore white head bands.

Among the out of town guests were Mrs. Elsie Gunselly and family of Oconomowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Shaw and family of Abbotsford, Mrs. Max Kadolph and daughter Bernice of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. William Fracte and family of Arpin, Mr. William Lindekugel and grandson Elmer of Poysippi and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keuthe and family of Marshfield.

After the wedding dinner the guests went to Beaver Town Hall where a free wedding dance was given. After the dance they all returned to the bride’s home and did not depart until the wee hour in the morning. Both the bride and groom are well known young people with hosts of friends among whom they are popular. The newlyweds immediately went to house keeping on the grooms farm. They were given a particularly fine assortment of wedding gifts and the best wishes of their many friends go with them as they embark on life’s matrimonial sea."

Mathilda Belle Schnorr

1Kidder County Farmers Press (Steele, Kidder Co., ND), 1926-01-07, Obituary: Schnorr, Mathilda, http://genforum.genealogy.com/schnorr/messages/41.html.
"A large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives gathered at the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon to pay their last respects to the memory of Mrs. Ewd. E, Lindekugel, who passed away last Tuesday. Her death was a great shock to the entire community and a heartbroken husband and five little children will not again hear their Mother's voice in this world. Mathilda Schnorr was born July 26th, 1890 at Warner, S.D., and died Dec. 29, 1925 at the Trinity hospital in Jamestown from septic pnuemonia, at the age of thirty-five years, five months and three days. She was united in marriage to Edwin Fred Lindekugel at Warner S.D. on Nov. 12th, 1911, and came to make her home on her husband's farm south of Robinson shortly thereafter. To this union were born six children, the youngest of which, Rosela Emmalind...

[...]

...Ollingly, Saskatchewan, two brothers, Howard Schnorr of Ipswich, S.D., and Frank Schnorr of Warner, S.D. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schnorr of Warner were present at the funeral. The church was filled to overflowing with sympathising neighbors and friends and the floral tributes were profuse and beautiful. Rev. John Elliott, pastor of the Nazarene church spoke words of comfort and a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. A. Bickmore and Mr. Roy Gorsline of Tuttle and Mrs. Elliott and Mr. Legler of Robinson, rendered several appropriate selections. Mrs. Frank Whitman presided at the piano. The remains of both mother and baby were laid to rest together in the Lutheran cemetery east of town. The pall bearers were Russell Williams, J.P. Whitman, Bert Bowerman, Wm. Meyers, Calvin Williams and Frank Goodman. Mrs. Linderkugel was loved and respected by all who knew her as a devoted wife and mother and a kind and loving christian woman of the highest type. The entire community extends heartfelt sympathy to the survivors."

The pallbearer Bert Bowerman is actually my great-grandmother's second husband."
