In the graveyard sweetly sleeping
Where the flowers gently wave.
Lies the one we love so dearly.
Who on earth no one could save.
We loved her yes, we loved her.
But the Savior loved her more.

filed near Mansfield in 1882. He was a carpenter who helped many of his
neighbors build their claim shanties. He also helped build the first Chicago,
Milwaukee depot in Aberdeen. Mr. Lindekugel served on the school board and was
superintendent of a Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Lindekugel and a
neighbor, Mrs. John Neiger, wove carpets for their parlors during the long
winters. The women of the community enjoyed quilting bees and the young people
had a good many parties. If the weather was too bad when it was time to go home,

In the graveyard sweetly sleeping
Where the flowers gently wave.
Lies the one we love so dearly.

"The deceased, Mary Dorothy Sillack, was born at Langsow, Brandenburg, Prussia Germany on the 14th day of January, 1853. In early infancy she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and then later instructed in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian Religion and confirmed in the Ev. Luth. Church to which church she remained a faithful member, having been a member in good standing and the local congregation for some in the thirty years. On the 18th day of November, 1878 she was married to Wm. Lindekugel, to which union were born four children, of which however one son preceded the parents to eternity in infancy. On the first of May, 1888, they left their native land and came to Clark County; where in the following spring they bought a wooded 80 acres in the town of Loyal, which they developed into a farm. In 1917 they retired to the Village of Loyal where they resided up to about 5 weeks ago when they found it necessary to move in with their son Frank and family because of the infirmity of old age. A week ago last Sunday they were all getting ready to go to church when the deceased was suddenly taken with a stroke of paralysis, however leaving her conscious. The first few days she seemed to rally but on Wednesday evening near six P. M. she was called out of time into a blessed eternity as we have all reason to believe. The deceased lived a long and useful life attaining the age of 79 years, 10 months and 9 days. She now leaves to mourn her departure, her sorrowing husband William Lindekugel of the Town of Loyal, three children; Frank Lindekugel of the town of Loyal; Mrs. Martha Trachte, of Arpin; and Wm. Lindekugel, Jr. of the town of Loyal; also 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church at Loyal, at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery, Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating.

The flower girls were Nora Trachte, Elsie Klumb, Florence Luther and Lyla Klumb.

The pall bearers were John Knoll, Frank Stange, August Ehlerts, Alfred Oestreich, Henry Lemke and Fred Strege."
